United Methodist Women (UMW)

United Methodist Women is an organized group of women who seek growth and understanding in Christian fellowship. The purpose of the UMW is:

  • To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;
  • To develop a creative, supportive fellowship;
  • And to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

All women in the church are invited to affiliate with UMW. Two fellowship groups meet once each month. They are:

Unit Meeting
Each month a general Unit Meeting is held on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Coffee and donuts are followed by a business meeting at 10:15 am.

Tuesday Morning Fellowship

JOY Fellowship

UMW to Celebrate 150 Years of Service

It’s time to say Happy Birthday to United Methodist Women.  A special program at UMW’s meeting March 27 will celebrate its 1869 beginning by a few friends. Now UMW is the largest women’s faith-based service and advocacy organization in the world.

All women of the church and their friends are invited to the 10 am Wednesday meeting in the Susanna Wesley Room. It will be a perfect time to learn about the missions of this forward-looking, giving group.

Erna Sproul, our UMW’s co-vice president, will be the story teller, recalling UMW’s wonderful history of missions and advocacy for the well-being of women, children and families.

The sharing gift will be for the national UMW Legacy Fund that encourages women by offering life-changing opportunities.

Refreshments will be provided by Tuesday Morning Circle. There will be updates, too, on Holly Daze, on social action and on our unit’s community outreach.

If you have any questions about the meeting or any of UMW’s projects, talk to President Kathy Wertman at church or call her at 586-4669.
